1. Audio Data for Captions

When you use our captioning feature, we send your audio data to ElevenLabs solely for the purpose of generating captions.

• The audio data is immediately deleted from ElevenLabs after processing
• Neither we nor ElevenLabs use or will use your data to train any AI models
• We do not store any audio data on our servers
• Audio processing is done in real-time with no retention

2. Caption Segmentation with AI Services

To create natural and readable caption segments, we may use AI services (OpenAI, Google Gemini) to process the transcript text.

• Only the text transcript is sent to these services, not the audio data
• The text is used solely to determine optimal caption segment breaks
• These services do not store or use this data for training purposes
• Processing is done in real-time and data is not retained

3. Screen Recordings and Video Processing

• All screen recordings are processed locally on your device
• Video editing and effects are applied locally on your machine
• We do not upload your recordings to the cloud
• You retain full control and ownership of your recordings
• Export processing happens entirely on your local machine

4. Authentication and Account Data

When you create an account or sign in:

• Authentication is handled securely through Supabase
• We store only essential account information (email, user ID)
• Payment information is processed by Stripe and never stored by us
• Account data is used solely for authentication and subscription management

5. Usage Analytics

To improve our service, we collect limited and anonymized usage data through PostHog:

• Feature usage patterns (which tools you use, not what you create)
• Application performance metrics
• Anonymized error reports for debugging
• No personally identifiable information (PII) is collected in analytics
• IP addresses are anonymized before processing

6. Error Reporting

For debugging purposes, TightStudio includes optional error reporting through Sentry:

• Only activates in production builds
• Does not include any personal information or recording content
• Only sends technical error information when issues occur
• Can be disabled in application settings

7. Third-Party Services

ElevenLabs (Transcription)

• Used for audio-to-text conversion
• Data deleted immediately after processing
• Not used for AI training

OpenAI/Google Gemini (Caption Processing)

• Used for text segmentation only
• No audio data transmitted
• Real-time processing without retention

Stripe (Payments)

• Handles all payment processing securely
• We never see or store your payment details
• PCI-compliant payment processing

Supabase (Authentication)

• Secure authentication and user management
• Data encrypted in transit and at rest
• GDPR compliant

PostHog (Analytics)

• Privacy-focused product analytics
• No PII collection
• GDPR compliant

Sentry (Error Tracking)

• Technical error reporting only
• No personal data included
• Enhanced privacy controls applied

8. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures:

• All network communications use encryption (HTTPS/TLS)
• Local data protected by your operating system's security
• Regular security updates and reviews
• Your content is never shared, sold, or misused

9. Data Retention

• Local recordings: Retained until you delete them
• Account data: Retained while your account is active
• Analytics data: Aggregated and anonymized, retained for up to 2 years
• Error logs: Retained for 30 days for debugging

10. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your account data
• Request deletion of your account
• Opt-out of analytics collection
• Export your data
• Contact us with privacy concerns

11. Children's Privacy

TightStudio is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

12. International Data Transfers

When using third-party services, your data may be processed in different countries. All services maintain appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and may notify you through the application for significant changes.
